Your Questions Answered
What is the best exercise class for beginners in Sunderland?
If you’re new to exercise or coming back after a long break, our Active Forever and Seated Pilates classes are the ideal starting point. Both are designed for complete beginners; there’s no pressure to keep up with anyone, and our instructors will always help you find a pace that feels right. View the Sunderland timetable to see what’s on near you.
Where are your Sunderland classes held?
We run sessions across a range of community venues throughout Sunderland. Check our timetable or get in touch, and we’ll point you to the closest one.
What are the best exercises for seniors?
The most beneficial exercises for older adults tend to focus on strength, balance, flexibility and coordination, not intensity. That’s exactly what our programmes like Mission 2 Mobility and Active Forever are built around. Gentle, functional movement that makes everyday life easier.
How much do classes cost in Sunderland?
Most sessions are just £4 – £5 per person. Some programmes like ESCAPE pain and the first block of Mission 2 Mobility are completely free. We’ve kept things affordable on purpose.
Is 3 exercise classes a week enough?
For most people, especially older adults, two to three sessions a week is a great place to aim for. It gives your body enough regular movement to build strength and balance without overdoing it. Many of our members come to two sessions a week and notice a real difference within a few weeks.
Is strength training safe for seniors?
Absolutely. In fact, it’s recommended. Regular low-impact strength work helps protect joints, improve balance and reduce the risk of falls. All of our sessions are led by qualified team who adapt exercises to suit every ability, so you’re always moving safely.
