Gentle Exercise & Wellbeing Activities for Care Homes

Tailored movement, music, relaxation and connection for care homes and assisted living settings across the North East.

Active Care brings friendly, adaptable wellbeing sessions into care settings, helping residents move at their own pace, enjoy social connection and take part in activities that feel safe, meaningful and enjoyable.

From seated exercise and music-led movement to seated Pilates and calming wellbeing sessions, our team helps care homes create moments of movement, confidence and connection.

Care Home Activities That Bring Movement, Music and Joy

Active Care is about bringing life, energy and gentle encouragement into care homes and assisted living settings.

We create sessions that support residents physically, mentally and emotionally, but always in a way that feels friendly, familiar and easy to join in with. Some residents may take part seated, some may stand, stretch, move to music, use props, chat, laugh or simply enjoy being part of the room. That all matters.

Movement can help support mobility, mood, confidence and quality of life, but the real magic is often in the social moments around it- the smiles, the music, the routine, the bit of fun that gives people something to look forward to.

Whether it is seated exercise, interactive group sessions or bespoke activity planning, our experienced team brings care, energy and respect to every session.

What a great day we had at the Spring event. Thoroughly enjoyed the yoga session on the beach and the dip in the sea. The mini afternoon tea was just enough and there was plenty of drinks offered throughout the day. Enjoyed the pilates and sound bath sessions too and the fun bongo bingo session to close the day. Very well organized and all team very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a lovely day.

Active Care Sessions for Your Setting

Choose from movement-led sessions, seated Pilates and calming wellbeing experiences, or speak to us about creating a regular activity programme that feels right for your setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What activities can you do in a care home?

Care home activities can include gentle movement, seated exercise, music-led sessions, themed group activities, relaxation, conversation and social wellbeing sessions.

Through Active Care, we shape activities around the residents in the room. Some people may join in seated, some may stand, move to music, use props, chat, laugh or simply enjoy being part of the group. It is all about creating moments that feel safe, familiar and meaningful.

What activities are suitable for residents with limited mobility?

Residents with limited mobility can still take part in many care home activities, especially when sessions are adapted properly.

Active Care sessions can include seated movement, gentle stretching, music-led activities, props, breathing, relaxation and group interaction. Residents do not need to keep up with anyone else. We adapt the pace, movements and energy of the session around each setting, so people can take part in a way that feels right for them.

Can you create a regular activity programme for our care home?

Yes. Active Care can be booked as a one-off session or shaped into a regular activity programme for your care home.

Why are activities important in a care home?

Activities in a care home are important because they can support routine, mood, movement, confidence and social connection.

For us, activity is not just about keeping people busy. It is about giving residents something to look forward to, helping them feel included, and bringing energy into the day. A good session can lift the room through music, movement, conversation or simply a shared moment together.

Do you provide wellbeing activities for care homes?

Yes. Active Care provides wellbeing activities for care homes and assisted living settings across the North East.

Sessions can support physical, mental and emotional wellbeing through gentle movement, social interaction, seated exercise, calming activities and bespoke activity planning. The aim is to support residents while also giving staff and families confidence that activities are delivered with care, energy and respect.
