As the government guidelines have been relaxed slightly we have been able to add outdoor classes to our timetable. Every Wednesday 10am we run our Buggy Bootcamp at Barnes Park, Sunderland. It's been going great so far and we only hope it will continue. It's been a great replacement to our Active Adult & Toddler group we would have usually ran on a Wednesday morning!
We are currently 7 weeks into a 12 week programme created for teenagers. Our aim is to show them how fun exercise can be and how important it is to be part of their daily routine. We have given each participant a pair of our Kangoo Jump boots and each week they must take part in a live and pre-recorded workout! As you can see form our video they are thoroughly enjoying the experience.
It's been great getting to meet up with some of our active family! Each week we have two Talk n Walk sessions going on in Barnes Park. We are trying to gradually get our older participants back into fitness again but mainly we love the social side of getting together! Afterwards we sit and enjoy a cuppa from our new Active Families travel mugs! If you'd like to join us we start at 11am on Wednesdays and 4pm on Thursdays, come along and join us!
In September we are launching our new programme "Seat 2 Your Street". Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund we are able to take seated exercise to the residents of Sunderland. We will be visiting 8 different streets over the course of a month and this funding will last for 3 months!
We will allocate two instructors to each street and invite the residents to join us for some group exercise outside of their homes! We will include seated dance with and without pom poms, resistance work with bands and some gentle stretching.
