We are now in Lockdown 3.0! We hate the fact that we managed to get out and about again but now been forced back indoors for the foreseeable future. However, we've done it once, twice and we will continue to support you at home for the duration of the pandemic. Take a look below at what we are currently offering!
Unfortunately we are unable to see you all in person again so we are back to calling everyone on our database regularly and sending out newsletters to keep the mind and body active throughout this lockdown. If you or someone you know would like to be added to our database just drop us an email which their details!
Our group designed to help get the over 55's active during lockdown. Every Monday we go live in this group so that members can take part in our free workouts from home. These include dance, seated weights/pom poms, seated Zumba and more!
Every Wednesday we post a workout in this group aimed at busy parents. Whether you have very young ones at home or are homeschooling hopefully you'll find time to take part in our 30 min home exercise sessions. There are also baby/infant classes in the group too to keep your little ones entertained!
This is our overall general group where we post all our updates and there are plenty of family workouts including HIIT and Zumba for you to enjoy whenever you please!
Thanks Sunderland City Council we were given funding to put together and create 100's of activity packs to distribute around the city. Care homes in the North of Sunderland and isolated elderly adults living in Millfield and South Hylton were some of the people who benefited from our packs.
We've been out an about using our funding to drop off activity packs to some isolated older adults. It's nice to just chat to some of these residents as they may not have seen or spoke to anyone for days or even weeks! The majority of these people have signed up to our fun and informative newsletters for 8 weeks thanks to funding from Sunderland City Council.
As we know the weeks/months leading up to Christmas can be tough and Sunderland food banks are always in desperate need of donations. We had lot's of donations given towards our Christmas hamper appeal and we also had a little left over so we donated everything we had to Washington Food Bank!!
Before Christmas we managed to raise over £1000 to help us fund our Christmas Hamper Appeal. Our hampers were intended for families that needed that extra bit of help over this tough period. We along with some fantastic volunteers spent the day making up these festive boxes along with the activity bags mentioned above. Then 2 days before Christmas we as a team dressed as elves to deliver the hampers and put some smiles on lot's of families faces!
EACH TIME WE DELIVER THIS PROJECT WE LOVE IT MORE AND MORE! TO SEE FAMILIES EXERCISING TOGETHER AND ENJOY GOOD HEALTHY MEALS! THE ABILITY TO DO IT FROM THEIR OWN HOMES IS A PLUS ESPECIALLY IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES! WE CAN'T WAIT TO DELIVER THE NEXT COURSE SOON!
