Ashleigh Thompson is a dedicated Health & Wellbeing Coach with a passion for making fitness and movement accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

As part of the Active Families North East CIC team, she delivers a wide range of inclusive, community-based programs designed to improve physical and mental wellbeing. From Buggy Bootcamp for new parents to Active Forever for older adults, Ashleigh ensures that everyone, regardless of experience or fitness level, feels supported and motivated on their journey to better health.

Her fitness journey began in 2012 when she was persuaded to attend a Zumba Fitness class—a decision that would change her career path. With a background in dance, she immediately fell in love with the energy and inclusivity of group fitness. Within months, she trained as an instructor and went on to gain her Level 2 Exercise to Music qualification, along with multiple fitness licenses.

Committed to lifelong learning and professional development, Ashleigh has expanded her expertise with a Level 3 Exercise for Older Adults qualification, a Level 3 Pre/Postnatal Exercise certification, and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. Her knowledge and passion ensure that all sessions are safe, engaging, and tailored to the needs of each participantempowering them to move with confidence at every stage of life.

Ashleigh firmly believes that fitness isn’t about competition—it’s about participation, enjoyment, and building confidence through movement. She loves seeing the positive impact exercise has on both physical health and emotional wellbeing and is proud to be part of a team that works tirelessly to create a supportive, welcoming, and empowering environment for the community.
